The Coroner will become involved if the death is sudden, violent, of unnatural cause, unexpected as well as death in custody. The Coroner may decide that a Post Mortem or Inquest is required, you will be unable to registrar the death until the Coroner allows you too.
The time on this will vary depending on each individual case, this can in some situations cause a delay in booking a date and time for the funeral but we will keep you up to date at all times so that the arrangements can be made as soon as possible.
